Join the IEEE Signal Processing Society Young Professionals after the conference sessions for a networking reception to unwind with your colleagues to discuss careers, entrepreneurship, and opportunities in a fun and casual setting.
During this event, Dr. Kermani will briefly discuss her career. She will then talk about her experience transitioning from academia to industry, and share insights on how to navigate a career in the tech industry as a young professional.
Biography
Dr. Zahra Kermani is a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Apple, where she works in the Camera R&D group. Her research interests include computational photography, signal processing, and applications of machine learning in image processing. She received her PhD from the Technical University of Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland. During her PhD, Dr. Kermani worked on the design and applications of multispectral cameras. Her PhD research has been awarded the Qualcomm Innovation Fellowship and she has been honoured as the Google’s Anita Borg Scholarship finalist. In addition to her technical work, Dr. Kermani is committed to promoting inclusion and diversity in the tech industry by participating in mentorship and inclusive communication programs.
