Registration Fees and Benefits

ICASSP 2023 will be an in-person conference. This 48th ICASSP will be the first post-pandemic edition, celebrating the return to physical presence and the 75th anniversary of SPS. The in-person experience brings our community together in one location, supporting the vibrant exchange of ideas, networking, and social interaction.

Due to unprecedented paper and content submissions to the event this year, we anticipate strong interest in attending ICASSP 2023 in-person, which might exceed venue capacity. We recommend registering early to secure your spot. Alternatively, we offer a virtual audience option which provides access to all aspects of the conference. We hope to see you there!

ICASSP 2023’s virtual audience registration option will provide live streaming access to all major events (such as opening/closing ceremony, plenaries, perspective talks and panels), on-demand access to pre-recorded presentations for all the papers, and access to the electronic conference proceedings. An in-person registration also allows access to all virtual components. The virtual platform will remain open for one month after the conference takes place. Virtual access to tutorials is also allowed at an additional cost.

Please carefully review the fees and benefits, then scroll to the bottom of the webpage and click the “REGISTER NOW” button.

Please note: as described in the submission guidelines, ICASSP 2023 requires that all papers, tutorials, etc. are presented in-person during the conference. Virtual-only presentation of papers or tutorials is not allowed.

Those authors who will not be allowed to travel abroad by strict and documented national rules in force at the time of the conference will be given an opportunity to present their accepted work with reasonable alternative accommodations. For those cases to be considered, appropriate documentation for all listed authors in the paper should be submitted to techprogramchairs@2023.ieeeicassp.org .

Author Ethics and IEEE Author Tools Authors Ethics and IEEE Author Tools will take place on Monday, 5 June from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

The first half of this workshop will provide a comprehensive review of author ethics and best practices that will cover:

  • the proper preparation of a manuscript;
  • how to apply for funding and grants;
  • best practices to avoid bibliometric and citation manipulation;
  • discussion of the submission and the peer review process;
  • via case studies, offer ethical practices to ensure successful publication.

The second half of this workshop will be presentations about new and updated IEEE tools for authors.

  • IEEE DataPort™, a new IEEE product and service in support of submitting data and code in an IEEE dedicated repository with support from the Signal Processing Society.
  • Code Ocean, a third-party repository to store and run algorithmic code.
  • IEEE Author Center/Portal, which is now the premier tool that covers all types of authors to  help navigate through the author journey.
  • A new addition to the program is from Interface Guru, a third-party, human-centric UX service provider offering a presentation on: “Creating Usable Scientific Illustrations for Scholarly Articles.” While scholarly articles often require the use of figures to convey concepts, these figures can suffer from common ergonomic errors. Usability studies demonstrate that user comprehension can be inadvertently undermined by problematic illustrations, reducing relevance and immediate comprehension. This session will teach the fundamentals of usable figures and illustrations. After this workshop you will be able to create optimal graphics, regardless of the software tool you choose. During the interactive Q&A portion, participants may submit figures for group analysis.

Please join us for this informative workshop and we look forward to lively and interactive discussions.

Policies

Author Registration

Each accepted paper must be covered by at least one non-student registration by 20 March 2023, and one non-student registration can cover up to four papers.

Non-Presented Paper (No-Show) Policy: Any accepted paper included in the final program is expected to have at least one author or qualified proxy attend and present the paper at the conference. If a paper is not presented at the conference, the paper will not be published by IEEE on IEEE Xplore® or other public access forums, but these papers will be distributed to conference attendees as conference proceedings and the copyright of these papers will belong to IEEE. For poster sessions, if the speaker is not present in front of the poster for most of the time during the poster session, this also implies the paper was not presented. Conference organizers are required to collect attendance records and a list of any non-presented papers and submit to IEEE SPS staff.

Exceptions to this policy will be made by the Technical Program Chair(s) of the conference only if there is evidence that the no-show occurred because of unanticipated events beyond the control of the authors, and every option available to the authors to present the paper was exhausted. The no-show authors may appeal the decision of the Technical Program Chair to the VP-Conferences.

Qualified Proxy Policy: The presentation of papers by substitutes is highly discouraged and may only be made after permission is granted by the Technical Program Chair(s) of the conference based on solid evidence that none of the authors is available to present. Papers presented by substitutes without permission will be considered as no-shows.

Authors with Travel Restrictions Policy: The Signal Processing Society values diversity. Authors who anticipate inability to travel to a conference because of a government-imposed travel restriction are still encouraged to submit papers. Such papers will be reviewed and accepted on their own merit for publication without any knowledge of the author’s travel restriction. Within one week of paper acceptance notification, travel-restricted authors must notify the Technical Program Chair of the conference with proof of their restriction. Substitute presenters may be possible or, depending on conference resources, other accommodations may be available, such as a remote presentation or pre-recorded video.

Refund Policy

All registration fees covering a paper are non-refundable. For registration fees not covering a paper:

A full refund, after a US$50 (equivalent) processing fee, will be given, provided the request is applied for prior to the last day of the Advance Registration deadline.

Refunds will not be issued after the Advance Registration deadline, unless in extreme cases (i.e. medical or family emergencies, visa issues based on solid evidence). In such cases, the organizers must be alerted prior to the conference start date. To obtain a refund, an email must be submitted containing proof of the extenuating circumstance, up to one week after the conference end date. Any visa related issues must provide proof that the application was submitted early enough according to the typical times to obtain a visa for the country and person in question.

The final decision on refund will be at the discretion of the conference organizers.
