Call for Applications: Rising Stars in Signal Processing
The Student and Young Professional Activities Committee, on behalf of the Organizing Committee, of ICASSP 2023 is pleased to invite applications to “Rising Stars in Signal Processing”, an initiative aiming at showcasing the research of Ph.D. students and postdocs who are attending ICASSP 2023 and interested in pursuing academic and research careers in the next 1-2 years. Successful applicants will be invited to present in a dedicated poster session at ICASSP 2023 to highlight their thesis and/or postdoctoral research to potential recruiters, faculty, and search committee members. The poster presentation should provide an overarching view of the research agenda, rather than focus on a single piece of result.
Eligibility:
Applicants should be within about 1-2 years of graduating with a PhD in a field of study relevant to signal processing, or have obtained a PhD within 2 years and do not currently hold a permanent faculty or research position. We especially encourage applications from women and underrepresented minorities. Applicants need to be registered for and plan to attend ICASSP 2023 in-person with their own travel support.
Application Materials:
1) CV (no page limit, PDF)
2) Research statement (maximum 1 page excluding references, Times New Rome with a font no smaller than 11pt, 1-inch margins, PDF)
3) One letter of recommendation from a research advisor. The letter should also confirm the travel support availability for the student to attend ICASSP 2023.
Important Dates:
Application Deadline: March 31, 2023 (AOE or anywhere on earth)
Notification: May 1, 2023
Note: Please ask your research advisor to send the letter of recommendation directly to yuejiechi@cmu.edu with the title “[ICASSP Rising Stars] Recommendation Letter for Student Name”.
